Compact food safe Beeswax paste to preserve and waterproof wooden cutting boards. Sufficient for more than 2 kitchen size boards. Many other applications too for wood, cement, marble, stone, tarpaulin and metal in waterproofing and casting. Using a cloth pad, wipe on in circular motion the soft paste onto dry board in 2 or more coatings. Leave for 48 hours for absorption and drying before buffing to a soft lustre sheen. Natural Beeswax waterproofs and reduces mold growth and timber contraction in dry condition as moisture is retained. Best applied to planned sanded raw timber. Its honey like color will not darken wood unlike Tung oil. Buffed to a warm soft luster sheen highlighting wood grain beauty too. Even on painted timber table top a coating of Beeswax paste prevents stains and scratches.
Easy to apply Beeswax paste on metal unlike beeswax bar that requires friction heat buffing or metal heating. Paste is soft, spread like butter penetrates and fill metal pit holes and cracks often the source of rusting. On scissors and knife blades it prevents gumming for a smooth cut. Similar on carving tools, metal punching dies in a friction reduction.
Waterproofs cement, ceramics, stone and plaster in candle holders, flower and succulent pots as dry condition is not conductive to moss growth. Mold makers uses Beeswax as a release agent on the master and for a clean release together with silicon to silicon mold release agent in rubber molding and resin casting with Ease release agent.
Cement and concrete casting application of beeswax is an effective release agent. Rub wax on to mold, run hair drier or heat gun over for even spread and penetration into mold details. Brush and buff to sheen before casting. For molds with fine details a spray of silicon release as insurance to ensure fine details are not lost in cement casting. Silicon oil helps to prolong the working life of silicon rubber molds.
Beeswax paste on canvas, leather, and tarpaulin impart softness and waterproofing as soft paste penetrate and lubricates the fibres to prevent leather drying and cracking.. Useful to camouflage sticky gummy deposits of labels on luggages, windows and car seats.
Natural pure beeswax is a tacky semi solid wax and is expensive with declining bees population. To reduce cost, solvent is added in liquid beeswax with reduced beeswax solid content. Beeswax paste have higher solid content and non toxic solvent free food safe that buffs smooth to a nice feel. As a natural organic product oxidation skinning of paste surface is expected. Like all beeswax natural polish finish, periodical maintenance application is recommended.
