Glass valves to fit 200mm, 240mm and 300mm glass desiccator in laboratory use. This spare valve is handy as replacement for broken valves that are only available with a complete desiccator jar set. To ensure leak free installation, apply petroleum jelly to the cover hole and the suction control T valve hole, cover and jar rim. Once the vacuum is created it is leak free as the petroleum jelly seals tight making impossible to remove the glass valve or the control T valve. The petroleum jelly lubricated T valve allow easy turning for vacuuming and locking in the vacuum. To open the jar cover, stop the vacuum pump, loosen the blue knob to allow air intake. Then carefully slide cover to with both hands to open.
Glass valve is also know as stopcock to store contents under vacuum in the desiccator. Note the glass valve is an improved design with the plastic blue knob to lock valve to retain vacuum or to allow air intake to open. The rubber O ring seal the valve against leakages. Application of petroleum jelly to the valve adds further sealing.
Vacuum desiccators are for vacuuming in laboratory, degassing of resins, wood stabilization with resin, wood preservation with borax impregnation, silicon molding materials, flora and fauna drying under vacuum with silica gel, storage of moisture sensitive instruments , tools, camera and more. Safe to use with vacuum pumps 6 cfm, 9 cfm and 12 cfm. Note to apply petroleum jelly to both surfaces of the glass cover and and jar rim.
Valve set consists of following : Valve 24mm /29mm for desiccator 200mm, 240mm and 300mm and 15g refined petroleum jelly.
