These metal punches are milled and hollowed out from one piece of solid metal rod in different sizes to suit the punch diameters. Hollow punches are to be used on a hard rubber base or end grain chopping wood to protect the cutting edge. Sharpening of the cutter is with Istor sharpener. To lubricate hollow punch hole best spray silicon release agent to avoid punch out disc from jamming the hollow die. For a clean punch cut strike once firmly with a heavy brass mallet. This also prevent punch head from mushrooming. Before punching lubricate the cutter circumfrence by twisting over a piece of beewax or batik wax.
